Engine power calculation formula  (Dieselpartsworld) 2016-01-17

Engine power calculation formula for reference
Engine power refers to the speed of the engine. The work done by the engine unit time is called the power of the engine.
How the engine power is calculated
P=n*M/9550 (mainly used for testing)
N: speed rpm
M: torque N.m
perhaps
P= (nVp) /30t (mainly used for theoretical calculation)
N: speed rpm
V: displacement L
P: average cylinder pressure MPa
T: engine stroke, 4 stroke t=4, 2 stroke t=2
"HP" is 1HP=745.7W, so the 100 imperial horsepower (HP) * 745.7=74.57KW = 75 kw.
Power is calculated by the torque, and calculation formula is quite simple: power (W) = 2 pi x torque (n-m) x speed (RPM) / 60, simplified calculation become: power (kw) = (n-m) of torque x speed (RPM) /9549
